CLUSTER PROGRAMS & APPLICATION PROCESS
Current Programs Offered
The minimum requirements for admission
to the extended and summer programs are graduation from high school/GED
and or commission or equivalent to function in ministry by an appropriate
religious authority. Acceptance to the resident program minimum
requirements are bachelors degree and U.S. citizenship. Generally, one previous successful unit of CPE is required for application.

Residency CPE

Tracks: A long-term care track offers a 9 month (3 unit)
residency. The acute-care track offers a 12 month (4 unit) residency.
Both tracks begin in September.

Stipend/Benefits: Some of the centers within the St. Louis Cluster
have stipend resident positions and most offer employee benefits
(including vacation time) to residents.

Application Fee: A $50 application fee payable to the St. Louis Cluster, ACPE should accompany your completed application. This fee is non-refundable and is not applied toward tuition.

Tuition: $650 for the first resident unit; $550 for subsequent
units in residency term.
Summer Intensive CPE
Most centers within the St. Louis Cluster offer this single unit,
11 week program, usually starting after Memorial Day and concluding
early to mid-August. “Intensive” means this unit format
requires full-time participation of students, including some overnight
and weekend on-call responsibilities. A Cluster-wide mid-summer
overnight retreat includes summer intensive and residency students. Applicants are interviewed first at the Cluster level and then placed
at a particular center by the Cluster supervisors.
- Application Fee: A $50 application fee payable to the St. Louis Cluster, ACPE should accompany your completed application. This fee is non-refundable and is not applied toward tuition.
- Tuition: $650 (A limited number of partial scholarships are
available based on need.)
Extended (Part-Time) CPE
Many centers and programs within the Cluster offer single, part-time
units. Starting dates and meeting days/times vary with the center
and program although time commitment is in the range of 16-18 hours
weekly. Applications are sent directly to individual centers and
programs (use the navigation bar at the left to access particular programs
of interest for more information.)

Application Process
All applicants for all programs must submit
a completed application. The application can be filled out and printed on-line or as a Microsoft Word document.

Residency and Summer Intensive Programs
Applications for residency and summer intensive
units should be submitted in January or February each year.
International applicants must submit their material no later than
October 15th for admission to the following year's peer group in
September. Residency applicants are interviewed first at
the Cluster level and then at the center level. All application materials for the residency and summer intensive units should be sent to:
