CLUSTER PROGRAMS & APPLICATION PROCESS

Current Programs Offered

The Cluster supervisors believe that group process and group composition are an important element in each of our programs. We look to build diverse groups with differences in age, experience, gender, race, denomination and style.

Residency CPE

  • Tracks: A long-term care track offers a 9 month (3 unit) residency. The acute-care track offers a 12 month (4 unit) residency. Both tracks begin in September. For more detailed information, use the navigation bar at the left to access a particular center of interest.
  • Stipend/Benefits: Most centers within the St. Louis Cluster provide a stipend for residency positions and most offer employee benefits (paid time off and sick leave) to residents.
  • Application Fee: $50.00 - The application fee is non-refundable and is not applied toward tuition. Scroll down below to "Application Process" for detailed mailing instructions.
  • Tuition: $650 for the first resident unit; $550 for subsequent units in residency term.

Summer Intensive CPE

Most centers within the St. Louis Cluster offer a full-time summer intensive unit of CPE. This 11 week, forty hours per week (minimum) program usually begins after Memorial Day and concludes early to mid-August. “Intensive” units require full-time participation of students, including some overnight and/or weekend on-call responsibilities.

There are additional programmatic requirements unique to each CPE center. For more detailed information, use the navigation bar at the left to access a particular center of interest.

NOTE: The application procedure for the summer intensive programs in the St. Louis Cluster have been revised to enable us to respond more quickly to those who are applying for CPE. Scroll down below to "Application Process" for further details.

Many centers and programs within the Cluster offer single, part-time units. Starting dates and meeting days/times vary with the center and program. Extended units vary in length and hours per week are adjusted accordingly. As a reminder, a single unit of CPE is a minimum of 400 hours over a specified period of time.
